Monday 1 Sept at 8 pm
Jamie Oliver gives some of the nation’s favourite dishes a twist, reinventing British classics like shepherd’s pie, rustling up outdoor treats and transforming old-school desserts such as pavlova and sticky-toffee pudding. In the first edition, the chef takes on three comfort foods at his home in Essex, and he’s joined by friend Christian, or `DJ BBQ’, to reveal his ultimate burger – including what cut of meat to use, how to cook it and what to have on the side. Plus, Jamie’s secret sauce recipe.

Program Two: 2/6. The Ultimate Cheese Toastie and Chicken Tikka Masala
Monday 8 Sept at 8 pm
Jamie Oliver is joined by his friend, the Italian chef Gennaro Contaldo as he prepares a bolognese ravioli. His old boss Gennaro Contaldo (also known as one half of BBC2’s Two Greedy Italians) also assists with making a chicken tikka masala with a secret ingredient – a smile. A bolognese ravioli and also creates the ultimate cheese toastie are on the menu as well as his take on the nation’s favourite dish – chicken tikka masala – cooked over an open fire.

Program Three: 3/6. Steak and Onion Sandwich and Osso Buco
Monday 15 Sept at 8 pm
Jamie makes sticky toffee pudding with his mum Sally. He rustles up a comfort food with the perfect steak and onion sandwich. And he cooks an Italian classic, osso buco with saffron risotto.

Monday 22 Sept at 8 pm
Jamie Oliver puts his stamp on three comfort food classics in this edition. First up is a retro treat – chicken Kiev, before the chef prepares spaghetti vongole with a non-traditional pink twist and a deluxe shepherd’s pie made with slow-roasted lamb shoulder rather than mince.
Program Five: 5/6. Fish Pie and Hummingbird Cake
Monday 29 Sept at 8 pm
Jamie Oliver cooks a hearty fish pie, including a delicate fish curry sauce. He makes gnudi – like gnocchi, but lighter – served with a butter and sage sauce. Also a fish curry using coconut milk and spinach for the sauce.

Tonight Jamie offers ham, egg and chips, a Jamaican jerk rub for the ham and served with caramelized pineapple.
