Gordon Ramsay Ultimate Home Cookery TV series on Food Network Canada. Now showing – started 7 September 2013.

The new series will develop recipes around Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Starting with breakfast, each episode will follow a day in the life of the Ramsay house as Gordon cooks with his children and then eats with his family.

We see a Gordon Ramsay that we hardly ever see! Gordon is so relaxed, patient and enjoying having fun. The new series will be a fun and family time.

Gordon has many favourite classic recipes and tonight he adds modern twist, as he prepares:

Gordon displays his Italian flair by offering an Italian breakfast, lunch and dinner, including:

Episode 12: Hearty

This episode sees Gordon cook up hearty food that will sustain us on a winter day.

Episode 13: Vegetarian

Today the wonders of vegetarian home cooking and a breakfast that is meat-free, also a lunch and dinner full of flavour and texture.

  • halloumi, courgette and herb cakes with chilli dressing
  • beetroot and thyme risotto
  • white chocolate and lime mousse

Episode 14: Comfort Food: Thursday 30 October 2013 Channel 4 12.05 pm

The comfort food is designed to fill our need of something just right after a hard day.

Recipes include:

  • spiced baked porridge
  • delicious sausage hotpot
  • potato and beetroot gratin
  • gorgeous apple compote with a creamy whip

Episode 15: Picnic Day

This episode helps us prepare picnic food for a great day out.

Recipes:

  • classic Scotch eggs
  • a giant sandwich known as a pan-bagnat

Gordon’s youngest daughter Tilly is on hand to help with:

  • a delicious prawn and cucumber salad
  • a chocolate and marshmallow fridge cake

Episode 16: Thrifty

Excellent food that doesn’t cost a fortune.

Recipes:

  • cinnamon eggy bread with quick stewed apples
  • a smokey bacon, sweetcorn and potato soup

Episode 17: Middle Eastern

Wonderful yet again with flavour-packed Middle Eastern take on breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Recipes include:

  • hummus made with beetroot,
  • lamb koftas
  • lemon and pistachio baklava

Episode 18: Healthy 

Healthy food that we all should be eating.

Recipes;

  • granola for breakfast
  • steamed mussels with cherry tomatoes and pancetta for lunch.

Gordon’s daughter Holly assists with

  • aromatic lamb chops
  • mango sundae

Episode 19: Light 

Light food for those times when we ned totake it easy. Maybe this can be a part of a 5:2 diet?

Recipes:

  • sourdough bread and crushed avocado
  • mackerel ceviche with fennel salad
  • griddled chicken with chickpeas
  • lemon and basil granita

Episode 20: Special Occasions 

Last episode, so on to those special occasions.

Recipes:

  • eggs Benedict with crispy Parma ham
  • grilled lobsters with Bloody Mary linguine

Gordon’s son Jack tackles:

  • chocolate and pistachio semifreddo

Gok Wan – Gok Cooks Chinese

In a popular series by the style guru Gok Wan – Gok Cooks Chinese on channel 4.
This is a six part series, where Gok Wan digs into his Chinese heritage and provides a unique take on Chinese cuisine. As a fashion guru Gok has his own approach to food.

New Series Jamie’s Comfort Food

The cookbook is called Gok Cooks Chinese and is highly regarded by reviewers.

Gok presents recipes for Prawn Wonton Noodle Soup, Fried Rice, Honey-glazed Char Siu Pork, Dim Sum, Street Food, One Pot Wonders and Feasts. The program show us how to select ingredients and cook in a relaxed way, providing help on Chinese cooking skills.

Episode OneChinese Classics

Perfect fried rice, that can include a variety of left overs. Hope to use rice cooked the day previously – add eggs.
Gok reminices about the food his family used to cook and fairly moves along to prepare and demistify Chinese culinary.
Fast food to a banquet. Gok’s father a cook, helps Gok with his Cantonese – Char Sui Fried Pork.
Gok prepares stir fried green beans and shrimps.
Then off to the Hakasan restaurant in London and to see how fast a main, Fragrant beef in Black bean sauce can be prepared and sent out to the diner. Gok then show us his version. One minute and 41 seconds.
Next how to select and use a wok.
Spicy stir fried prawns and cashew nuts is the next recipe. Base on the three basic ingredients of flavour, sring onion, garlic and ginger.

Program Ten ~ The Banquet

The final program of the series and Gary and the sous-chefs prepare a banquet in Atul Kochhar’s restaurant in London’s West End. Gary is assisted by three ‘apprentices’, sous-chefs ~ Bushra Akram (a lawyer), Kalwant Sahota (works in the NHS) and Scott Davis (a chef). The sous-chefs do research whilst on tour for ideas.

The background to Gary and Atul’s friendship, also their rivalary when on the Great British Menu incidently on UKTV Food tonight at 7.00 pm. Watch the battle of Gary’s ‘UK’ food versus Atul’s Indian cuisine.

Gary has been working hard cooking with very talented Indian chefs. Gary has been cooking with the help and advice of Indian chefs but you can see his approach and cooking instinct coming to the fore as well. India its cuisine and culture are vibrantly brought to our tv screens. Each programme sees a different Indian chef that assist Gary by guiding him through the prepararion of the spices and the cooking process. It puts Gary under some stress, but he copes with this well, in spite of the heat and I think he does so well. A true talent in the cooking world!!

Now for the moment of truth, how will the banquet go?
