This new cookbook follows the successful series and cookbook The Hairy Dieters How to Love food and lose weight and is filled with 80 delicious low-calorie recipes.
In this new book the boys give tips and techniques to help us develop recipes that do not add weight but are reduced in calories. A fine collection of diet recipes from the Hairy Bikers at a reasonable price.
Background: The boys Si and Dave, realised a year ago that they were heading to an early grave. They had become very much overweight, were taking medication for blood pressure and high cholesterol. So time for a radical change of direction and food was the key.

Week five with Jazz and back to New Orleans. Si is trying hard to convert Dave to enjoy jazz.
A place of unique flavours due to the different cultures in the city, where the different cultures each have their trademark dish.
We start with jambalya – throw in spicy sausage, chicken, green peppers, celery and onion. Add tomatoes – see the hairy biker’s jambalya recipe at their site.
The famous mardi-gras parade is over but you can still visit the amazing floats in their storage depot.
To a fire station kitchen for a spot of cooking at Mamita – a family owned restaurant. the famous . Si and Dave show us how to cook our own version of hot beef tamales.
Why not join Si and Dave as they bring you into their rambunctious world for an evening of laughter, high-jinks and just possibly a bit of cooking on the side! The food that we enjoy, but lighter – less calories. Keep the good stuff but loose the fat!
Food and entertaining go together. So the challenge tonight is to redo party food.
The guys do a weigh in and find they are almost there….
And then the pampering…in a seaweed bath… unreal… a massage and spa treatment…brilliant!!!
The amazing ending is with Si and Dave getting their new weight confirmed almost 3 stone of a loss each. The Doc is very pleased and when they visit the dietician – she has the lost weight as lard on two trays. They guys try carrying these about for a while to see what it was like when they started at their original weight.
It is a wake up call and while they guys make it funny and enjoyable watching, we all should consider what they have managed and if we are overweight – to consider getting a plan in place to reduce our size.
Recent research seems to indicate that a lower intake of calories helps prolong life and maintain good health. So good health to all and keep the calories down.
