Jamie’s new cookbook has been published and accompanies a new series on Channel 4. It will no doubt be very popular and head to the top of the book sales lists. So what is in the new book?
A fine set of recipes, based on the unlikely concept that we can prepare meals in 15 minutes. It is all a bit rushed, but it is possible.
In the new cookbook, Jamie has limited photos of each recipe and a short guide to each recipe to ensure extra fast cooking.
An introduction outlines the 15-minute philosophy – how Jamie set about creating the concept. The average cost and average price of each meal. Based on what we need to eat at each meal, getting the balance just right in terms of carbs, protein and fat.
- How to serve food, what dishes, plates, platters etc.
- How to cook food, its preparation and the equipment required.
- The set up in the kitchen and the concept of a pantry, new for some.
Then to the recipes, based on the basics:

Each recipe is broken down into calories, fat, sugar and saturated fat.
Good to see Jamie getting into the detail of calories allowing us to keep track of how much we eat. In fact this is a good diet cook book.
